Dr. Abramson, founder and CEO, has a rich background that includes human genetics, computer software design and development, big data analytics, business, law, and teaching. His business experience includes retail, entertainment, manufacturing auto mechanics, management consulting, publishing, consumer weight loss, and direct to consumer products. While with General Electric, he did public policy on alcohol programs for the Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare, and was on the NASA Spacelab project to pick scientific experiments. His health care experience Assistant Professor of Community Medicine at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. Board of Directors of North Charles General Hospital (Baltimore), and the Maryland Hospital Association strategic planning committee. He chaired the Business Section of the Software Publisher's Assocation in the early days of the personal computer revolutoin.
Dr. Abramson has 20 years as an Adjunct Professor of Biotechnology at Johns Hopkins. His masters' level courses include managerial finance, economics of biotechnology, technology fraud and abuse, creating the biotechnology enterprise, and ethical, legal and regulatory problems in biotechnology. He was named Faculty of the Year in 2005.
His education includes his Ph.D. in Human Genetics from the University of Michigan folllowed by his Master of Science in Management from MIT where he was an Alfred P. Sloan Fellow. His other degrees include M.S. Biiology, University of Rochester, B.A. Mathematical Biology, University of Pennsylvania, and his J.D. from American University. He is admitted to Maryland and D.C. bars, the United States patent bar and the bar of the United States Supreme Court.
